Lalala (feat. BRYAN THE MENSAH)
P8ople
World famous dance act Pegboard Nerds returns with a brand new alias: p8ople. Making its debut with the hot blooded sounds of ‘Lalala’, the song features up-and-coming African artist BRYAN THE MENSAH, whose vocals are whimsically swirled around a breezy house groove, spacious melodies and uplifting ‘Lalala’ backing harmonies. Instantly, p8ople defines itself with organic sounding feelgood dance grooves, sure to raise a smile on everyone’s faces - out now on Spinnin’ Records.
p8ople is a new project by Scandinavian producers Michael Parsberg and Alexander Odden, who have accumulated hundreds of millions of streams online and developed a loyal fanbase under their Pegboard Nerds alias. Known for a series of mainstage hits throughout the last decade, the Danish-Norwegian duo was dubbed a ‘must-see act’ by Billboard, while receiving support from the world’s biggest DJs, ranging from Tiësto to The Chainsmokers.
With p8ople, however, the proven duo is switching things up. Their first release, ‘Lalala’ sees the new alias bring on the vocal talents of BRYAN THE MENSAH, a new school African artist who was discovered through Spotify’s Soundbetter talent platform.
The track comes together as a mesmerising summer anthem—the perfect soundtrack for those hot days in the sun. It’s clear as day: p8ople couldn’t have found a better way to launch their new act. ‘Lalala’ will surely pave the road for both acts involved, as it delivers a warm and exhilaratingly fresh sound, one that confidently guides dance music in an exciting new direction.
"During the lock-down we started to experimenting with another musical universe - that we're normally doing and loving in Pegboard Nerds - and came up with the basic idea for p8ople. Suddenly one day we found an old song - we've done while touring in with PN in a hotel room very late somewhere in the world - and that just landed all the way down in Bryan's camp” - Michael and Alex of p8ople
“It was cool and fun collaboration - although it was a bit difficult to be 3000 kilometers away recording all the different vocals - and getting in sync - but it worked out and I’ll love what we came up with” - BRYAN THE MENSAH
