“I had the idea for this track laying around for a couple years in my unfinished song folder. I gave the folder to Boaz van de Beatz and he made the production for it. We finished it in my studio in Amsterdam. It was a totally different sound than the songs we did before like ‘Guaya’ and ‘The One’, but we wanted to do this house project for fun. At the time of writing this song I was going through a break, the lyrics are a bit melancholic, but very real. I was very much in love but I knew I couldn’t stay with this person any longer. I think a lot of people can relate to this feeling.”

Amsterdam’s Eva Simons is a singer, songwriter and producer who has been performing and composing music most of her life. Since the demo of her debut single ‘Silly Boy’ leaked on YouTube and gained worldwide attention, that led to a record deal with EMI and her first major chart hit around Europe, Eva’s career has reached stratospheric heights.
In 2010, she experienced her global breakthrough when she released the hit single ‘Take Over Control together with Grammy award winning DJ and producer Afrojack. ‘Take Over Control’, which was co-written by Eva, was an enormous success, reaching platinum status in Australia and in the United States and high chart positions in dozens of countries. Her next major success came in 2012 when she featured on the Will.I.Am single ‘This Is Love’. The single became a worldwide hit, reaching the number 1 spot in multiple countries including the UK, and top 10 chart positions in many other countries. Later that year she received a BMI Songwriting award for ‘Take Over Control’. In 2015, Eva once again gained international chart success with her hit single ‘Policeman’, soon earning double Platinum status in her home country, and hitting the charts throughout the world. As if all this is not enough, Eva has taken her career to new heights during 2016/2017 as a member of the jury on the Dutch version of the talent show ‘Idols’.
