Canada's finest Blond:ish presents perhaps one of the most exquisite festival gems of the year, as she reworks legendary pop record 'I Want To Know What Love Is' by Foreigner into a goosebumps invoking deep house anthem. Following a legendary Burning Man sunrise set, it is now capturing hearts and dancefloors all over the globe.
Already an emotional ride in its original shape, reaching high on the pop charts back in the 80's, the melody and compelling chorus have never lost any of its impact. So, as widely acclaimed Canadian DJ/producer Blond:ish prepared for her performance at last year's Burning Man festival, this very record came into mind:
"Every year I try to make a special edit for my Burning Man sunrise sets. This moment is absolutely everything, there’s nothing like it. This particular year I had this burning desire to bring smiles to many faces at sunrise, just to invoke a little nostalgic happiness together. I couldn’t think of any more fitting track than Foreigner’s - 'I Want To Know What Love Is’."
As her 'Sunrise Jungle Rework' of the song created a stir among the festival crowd, followed by the rest of the worldwide dance audience, Blond:ish saw her version turn into a force of its own. A dance classic if you will, lighting up smiles everywhere, becoming the anthem of many after parties, as a ray of feelgood, positive vibes after a long night of heavy beats. Hands in the air, tears in the eyes, sing along and truly feel and share a special moment on the dancefloor.
And now, for the first time ever, Foreginer has approved a remix for official release. The edit by Blond:ish is surely bound to capture the hearts of so many more music lovers. It's a beautiful ride, starting with that spark of inspiration at Burning Man, now conquering the world with its flames of love:
"This is a story about a little blonde girl’s journey about her love for going to a festival in the desert and playing sunrise sets. This little girl discovered meditation along her journey and loved to be in the present moment because that’s where she learned true happiness is. So for her little sunrise set, she wanted to make a special edit to inspire happiness and positivity in people while they are dancing the sunrise away deep in the desert, truly being in the present moment."
