Look At Us Now
Following their massively acclaimed hit tune 'Nothing On Us', Dutch DJ/poductional duo The Him now returns with the much anticipated follow-up 'Look At Us Now'. Already road tested at their recent smash performance at Ultra Peru, the record is a euphoric piece of dance music that brings nothing less than upwinding, anthem-like climaxes, featuring The Him's trademark melodics. 'Look At Us Now' is officially out now on Spinnin' Records.
Jeroen Kerstens and Steven Berghuijs have been paving their way towards international success since the start of The Him back in 2015. Whether it be crafting infectious melodies with their transcendent originals and innovative remixes or electrifying crowds with their energetic sets, the duo is an international dance force to be reckoned with.
They can include several official remixes for the likes of A-list talents such as The Chainsmokers, Miike Snow and Miley Cyrus and a string of successful originals like ‘Feels Like Home’, ‘Don’t Leave Without Me’, ‘I Wonder’, ‘Always’ ‘Broken Love’ (ft. Parson James) and ‘By Your Side’ (with Jordan Jay) to their name. Their hard work and talent has not been unnoticed, as Disruptor Management soon had them on their radar and signed them to their roster, as well as Spinnin’ Records.
The Him’s touring history has played an integral role in their rise and is equally impressive as their music achievements; from supporting Galantis accross the US to playing alongside some of the world’s greatest DJs including Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Kygo and The Chainsmokers. This summer they played at some of the biggest festivals such as Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza and Sizget to name a few.
This was followed by one of their biggest hits to date: 'Nothing On Us'. Coming with widespread DJ support, the record quickly turned into one of 2018's festival favorites, counting over 4,5 million Spotify streams by now.
'Look At Us Now'
And now, the guys are back, closing off the year with an undeniable dance anthem. 'Look At Us Now' is an invigorating club tune, based on a subtle but highly effective house groove, while building momentum with sweet vocals drenched in spacious effects before dropping in a high energy chorus. It's straightup euphoria hitting here, with feelgood synth stabs taking the lead in a record that surely underlines the ever evolving career of The Him!
"We've been really inspired lately to make some more house music that fits in our bigger live shows. It's funny because we wrote the vocal for 'Look At Us Now' already more than two years ago in Sweden. We had some other versions of the song but it took us a long time to come to this production as it is now. When we tried it out live for the first time on Ultra Peru a few weeks ago the crowd went crazy so we're super stoked to get it out there!" - The Him

Adagio For Strings
Lucas & Steve finish their biggest year to date with the stunning club gem 'Adagio For Strings'. It's a huge tune delivered here by the famed Dutch duo, featuring the famous string melody in an extatic piece of dance music, courtesy of the guy's trademark feelgood sound. Hot on the heels of widespread DJ support, the track is officially out now on Spinnin' Records.
Already a centrepoint in the duo's DJ sets, 'Adagio For Strings' underlines how Lucas & Steve are able to incorporate their uplifting sound to a wide variety of records. As if they wanted to celebrate 2018's highlights, the energy bursts out of this record, going all out with this blazing piece of dance music, featuring the famous string melodies alongside jubilant chords and a hard hitting future house drop.
Surely, they have something to celebrate. 2018 saw Lucas & Steve perform much praised performances at festivals all over the world, from Miami Music Week and their return to Tomorrowland's mainstage to gigs at Mysteryland, touring China (including playing the Creamfields festival there), Sensation Jakarta and of course the Amsterdam Dance Event, where they also hosted their own soldout event Skyline Sessions.
In the meantime, they kept on delivering party gems as steady as the clock. From club tracks like 'Source' and their 'Skyline Worldwide' EP to pop hits like 'I Could Be Wrong' (featuring R&B singer Brandy), 'You Don't Have To Like It' (together with Janieck) and their current hit record 'Where Have You Gone (Anywhere)', now followed up by the infectious and melodic high of 'Adagio For Strings'.
"We've been raised with classical music, Lucas' mother even is a pianist, so this music has always been an integral part of us. Listening to the original 'Adagio For Strings' by Samuel Barber really inspired us to make our own version. The chords are so magical, and to add our own sound to it felt very natural - definitely a joy and honor to build something special with these melodies! So yeah, a match made in heaven if you ask us!" - Lucas & Steve
DJ support for 'Adagio For Strings' is strong, including Hardwell, Oliver Heldens, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack, W&W and many more.
