CUPRA GERMANY x SPINNIN' RECORDS x PAROOKAVILLE: MUSIC IS MY MESSAGE

Spanish car brand CUPRA has become a trusted partner for Spinnin’ Records and one of Germany’s biggest festivals Parookaville. Together, they’ve set up a compelling search for new DJ talent, aptly tagged ‘Music. Is My Message’, asking DJ/producers to send their best track and a 15 minute video of their DJ set, followed by an exciting battle between the finalists at the CUPRA Wacky Shack stage at Parookaville.
This year, the contest created quite a stir, leading to 68 demos + videos sent by young talents from all over Europe. The submission period ran from June 8th 2023 until June 25th 2023. Consequently, Spinnin’s A&R team joined forces with famed German DJ/producer Wave Wave to select a longlist of 10 finalists.
These were introduced to the online audience, who could then vote for their favorite, leading to four definitive finalists: Angie Mill, Bonkr, Jimmi Rider and Xenea. As they were prepared for live action, each receiving an exclusive video call with Wave Wave as well as last year’s contest winner Merow, the heat was officially on at the recent edition of Parookaville.
Several knockout rounds followed, live on CUPRA’s Wacky Shack stage, in the end decided by rising Dutch star Angie Mill. She was immediately praised with playing 30 minutes b2b with Wave Wave, a highly energetic and celebratory performance that emphasized she was a true winner.
Next month, Angie Mill will receive the second part of her prize package, as she’ll enter the CUPRA Music Lab Production studio to tweak her winning track to perfection, followed by an official release on Spinnin’s Talent Pool label + promotion through the label’s social channels.
