When you get pushed to a point that 'no matter what the cost you want to get out of a situation' and accepting that people will gaslight you for that reason. And at one point maybe to save yourself, cut ties, break things off, and letting your boundaries known. And if that makes you 'a bad guy' in their eyes, well hurray for it.
