A pulsar is a magnetized star in lighthouse appearance as its electromagnetic radiation passes the Earth's night sky, flickering like flashlight due to the rotation of the star. Far away in the vast unknown, long in the past, a beam of light makes its way to Earth, pulsing like our beating heart, as if to remind us of our dreams and the deeper meaning that the shallowness of our brief existence was given by our conscious perception.
