Exclusive interview Mike Williams: 'Challenge me on my Snapchat!'

Mike Williams is going full force this ADE, especially now he just released his new single 'Take Me Down'. Read an exclusive interview with him right here.

Hey there, first up: what have you been up to lately?
"Hey! I’ve been working a lot in the studio lately, just finished a cool new remix and I’m working on a lot of new originals as well! Also did a really cool Asia Tour last month, that was incredible! And of course preparing for the ADE week."

It’s time for the Amsterdam Dance Event! What are you doing this week?
"For me it’s the first ADE week that I’m actually performing. Tiësto asked me to heat up the place for him at his Clublife 500 show in the Ziggo Dome and I’m doing SLAM! Mixmarathon in the Ziggo Dome as well. Besides that, I’m also playing at Spinnin’ Sessions, Skyline Sessions and I’m doing my own meet and greet and a liveset together with Justin Mylo and Mesto at Club ABE. It’s going to be a super busy week, with a lot of interviews and meetings, but I can’t wait!"

Your single Take Me Down was released this week. What can you tell us about it? 
"That’s right! I started this project in the summer and I really wanted to make something I could play in my sets, but is also playable on the radio. So I came up with the drop of 'Take Me Down', which is energetic but still melodic enough to play on the radio. Then I decided to add female vocals to the break and added the amazing vocals by Angi3! I’m really proud of the final version!"

What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"Well, after 'Sweet & Sour' and 'Groovy George' I decided to make a bit more melodic kind of tracks, because that is what I love to do! Songs with a really strong and catchy melody always gives me goosebumps, so my goal is to create one myself."

A lot of gigs coming up for ADE! Which one are you most excited about and why?
"I’m really excited for Tiësto’s Clublife 500. It’s really an honor to share the stage with him and I’m really thankful that he invited me!"

If you were free during ADE, which parties would you visit? 
"I’ve never been to AMF in the Arena haha.. And I think I won’t be there this year either. So that’s something I would definitely visit."

Long story short, how would you describe the Amsterdam Dance Event in one word? 
"One hell of a party week!"

And finally, which record are we definitely going to hear a lot during this ADE? 
"Well, definitely ‘Take Me Down’ in every set of mine, and maybe my new remix that’s coming up!"
