Jan 27, 2017

We proudly present the New Dance Music Friday feature, your weekly update on all newly released dance tracks, brought together on one amazing Spotify playlist. Featured this week (among many others): Oliver Heldens!  He's releasing his new single ‘I Don't Wanna Go Home’ today and provides the list with some musical tips, and tells all about it in this exclusive interview.

Hey Oliver, you just released your new track 'I Don’t Wanna Go Home'. How did you create this?
"
It started with the idea that I wanted to create a fun track. I drew inspiration from a lot of fun and danceable tracks and started putting all these sounds together. Step by step it kind of turned into what I had in mind and I think the end result is definitely fun and danceable. Really happy with how it has been received so far!"

What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"I definitely think that throughout the years my tracks show my evolution as an artist. Obviously I’ve gained a lot of experience and learned a lot from several people that have crossed my path. Also, you can see that I’ve been experimenting with sounds and styles at certain stages of my career, like right know I’ve just got back from experiencing with a more disco sound."

The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is Spotify to you?
"It is important because it is one of the best ways I can get my music to my fans and the public. Especially for your track to get added to some awesome playlists. I see it as recognition for my music. If your track is doing well on Spotify that is definitely something to be happy with as an artist!"

Which tracks released this week should definitely be added to New Dance Music Friday?
"
These tracks are all tracks that I have also used in my Heldeep Radio show, that have been released this January and that I really liked:

 - Loud Luxury & Ryan Shepherd - 'Something To Say'

- Jynx - 'Ember'

- Felicity & Thomas Feelman - 'Together'

And these tracks aren't out yet, but I'm already playing on the show as well:

- Paul Mayson Feat. The Hi - 'Run (Jasper Dietze Remix)'

- Chocolate Puma vs. Pep & Rash - 'The Stars Are Mine'

- Karsten & Rens Van Duren - 'Good Old Days'

- CIDft. Conrad Sewell - 'Secrets' "
