Exclusive interview: New Dance Music Friday featuring Tujamo
Feb 17, 2017
We proudly present the New Dance Music Friday feature, your weekly update on all newly released dance tracks, brought together on one amazing Spotify playlist. Featured this week (among many others): Tujamo! He's released his new single ‘Make U Love Me’ this week, and provides the list with some musical tips, and tells all about it in this exclusive interview.
Hey, you just released your new track Make U Love Me. How did you create this?
"The basic idea came to life in a midnight session, where I was trying out new stuff with these vocals. The overall vibe was very housy and oldschool and I wanted to keep this style in the final project. In the end, I definitely wanted to bring in my sound with brasses and groovy beats again. From there on out, the production went pretty fast."
What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"Well, I did want to create something a bit more radio, but keep the vibe useful for clubs as well. In general, I want all my productions to be playable in clubs and festivals, since I always want to drop them wherever I play."
The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is Spotify to you?
"I love Spotify. It’s not just a great music listening software but also a great place to find new music and inspiration every once in a while. Spotify has become one of the key players in general. Even radio stations nowadays tend to look at what is working on Spotify and implement these trends into their programs. So, for me as an artist, being on Spotify and pushing my music through this outlet is of course really important."
