Exclusive interview: New Dance Music Friday with Timmy Trumpet
Nov 17, 2017
We proudly present the New Dance Music Friday feature, your weekly update on all newly released dance tracks, brought together on one amazing Spotify playlist. Featured this week (among many others): Timmy Trumpet! He's released the blazing 'Narco' together with Blasterjaxx this week, and talks about the creation of the track, his music and his favorite new records in this exclusive interview.
Hey, you just released your new single ‘Narco' together with Blasterjaxx. How did you create this?
"Blasterjaxx and I worked on the track together at their studio in Holland. We started a few ideas but this was the strongest. Idir from Blasterrjaxx is actually playing guitar in the second breakdown. They’re both really talented so it was an honour to work with them."
What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
"I’m always trying to evolve no matter what I’m doing. This track is really special because it’s a collab and great things can happen when artists get in the studio together. I like that the trumpet hook resolves and continues on synth in the drop. That clash between traditional and modern continues to grow."
The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist. How important is Spotify to you?
"Spotify has become the main gateway for all music lovers. Personally I’m addicted to Spotify because of the recommended / suggested tracks. I also love how they associate moods with music. Music is an emotion so Spotify can easily become the soundtrack to your life."
Which recently released dance tracks should definitely be added to New Dance Music Friday?
"Retrovision x Raven & Kreyn - 'Nobody Else'
ANG & SaberZ - 'Good Love'
D.O.D. - 'Incline'
And if you like 'Narco', check out my latest two records 'Al Pacino' and 'Punjabi'."
