Exclusive interview: New Dance Music Friday with Mike Williams
May 11, 2018
We proudly present the New Dance Music Friday feature, your weekly update on all newly released dance tracks, brought together on one amazing playlist. Featured this week (among many others): Mike Williams! He's releasing his new single 'Give It Up' today, and talks about the creation of it in this exclusive interview.
Hey, you just released your new single 'Give It Up' today. How did you create this?
"Hey! That’s correct! Last year I spent some time in the studio in Ibiza together with two great singers and writers A*M*E and Stevie Appleton. Eventually this idea was created in a day, and I’m finally releasing it now!"
What does this record say about your musical evolution as an artist?
" I think this track is part of a new bunch of cool tracks coming up this year, I try to experiment with some things this year and hopefully it will work out!"
The track is featured on Spinnin’s New Dance Music Friday playlist on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer. How important is streaming to you?
" I think streaming is super important nowadays, not only for me but also for a lot of other artists. People don’t buy tracks anymore, they stream it!"
Which recently released dance tracks should definitely be added to New Dance Music Friday?
TV Noise - '808 Chester'
Young & Jasted - 'Sorry'
Dastic - 'Let Me Love You' (Joe Stone remix)
